The Cajon:

I've been gigging with a cajon (box drum) for the past few months and it sounds great.  I've gotten nothing but positive feedback both from bandmates and people I don't know.  I have been micing it, which really brings out a nice tonal range: deep lows and snappy highs.  I included it on a couple of tracks on my current band's CD and it adds really nice texture, particularly to some of the more mellow, drony songs.

Feedback:

Here is an email that I recently received from a customer regarding some tracks I recorded:

"Well, I mixed together a quick mp3 of my scratch guitar and all your
individual tracks, no effects except a limiter on the master, and I
panned the overheads... I am quite pleased... This is a bargain, and I really appreciate it...
Otherwise, I would be using my loops, which are quite good, but not
personal to a particular piece...

SO, I sent the track to a very good friend of mine who is an avid
musician and recording engineer. He is quite picky and very honest
about what he hears... Here is what he had to say:

Very cool. Who did you use? I like the way he recorded the drums, actually. It's quite usable and mixable. Anyway, he sounds good. I'd love to know who he is. Maybe I can use him for some of my 1960s stuff when I get around to it instead of the loops.

(He) has been the most supportive person in my live regarding music. And, he has a heck
of a good ear, and takes particular pride in his ability to record drums..."
